The annual North African diaspora ferry season opened

The annual North African diaspora ferry season opened on June 15 and runs to mid-September — one of the largest seasonal maritime migrations in the world.

It plays out as three simultaneous operations: the Strait of Gibraltar corridor (Algeciras, Motril, Almería → Tanger Med, Nador); the Italy/Spain–Morocco routes, where GNV has brought new LNG ferries online; and Tunisia’s CTN season with TANIT and CARTHAGE running from Marseille and Genoa into Tunis (La Goulette took its first arrivals on June 18).

If you’re sailing one of these routes this summer, or working the ports, post what you’re seeing — vessel swaps, schedule changes, waiting times — and correct anything above.
